These rules are designed for:
1. Safety
2. To allow maximum playing time for players
3. To keep the games on schedule
Our goal
is to provide quality playing time for all players and teams. Our aim is to
ensure that all teams will be matched in skill. Teams will be placed and
matched by ability according to outdoor standings and results of any seeding
games.
Scores and standings are not tracked due to open rosters.
Safety:
1. Teams are not allowed on the field unless it’s their game.
2. Before the game and after the game you cannot be on the sidelines nor on or near the end zones.
3. Pre and post game meetings must be in the bench areas.
4. During play, players must show restraint when running near the sidelines due to the narrow width of the out-of-bounds area.
5. Parents and spectators are not
allowed on the side.
6. * One coach and 1 assistant may stay on team bench area.
Eligibility:
1. Players must sign a sport zone roster waiver to be eligible to be on the field or bench.
2. Rostered players on one team may play on a roster for another team.
Team Play:
1. Teams may choose either bench.
2. The guest team (listed second) must wear the alternate jersey in case of color clash. Teams are responsible for alternates.
3. The number of field players is 9v9
(including the keeper) for all age groups.
Exception: all the U15 – 19 Boys Divisions is 8 v 8 (including the keeper).
Field Play:
1. Outdoor USSF rules apply except for the following modifications.
2. Slide tackling the ball from an
opponent is illegal.
Goalies may slide in their own goalie
box as long as it is not in a dangerous manner.
3. An offside is called but only in the goalies 18 yards from the goal line. The offside line extends all the way across the 18yd box to the side lines..
4. Subbing is unlimited. A maximum for 2 subs at a time may enter the field of play on the fly. The game never stops for subs.
Running Clock:
1. The clock is a continuous 45 minute
period for the regular season games. This time includes turn around time
between games.
* Note- there will be no half time at the bench area for all
the senior teams including the upper U14/15 divisions and older. Teams will
change ends immediately at a half time whistle to maximize the playing time for
all players.
** Youth teams will have a half time at
the bench area (U12 to U14).
*** Seeding games may be shorter in length to accommodate the multiple number of games needed to play in one day. No half time in seeding.
2. Your game time starts immediately upon the conclusion of the previous game.
3. Teams should be at the assigned field ahead of the scheduled game time. Every minute of playing time is precious. Please be ready to take the field the moment the previous game is done.
4. Teams should warm up and stretch under the deck area prior to the game time.
5. Coaches should talk and make assignments prior to entering the field.
6. In the case of an injury that delays play, the referee will indicate the game time if there is a time change.
7. The management reserves the right to terminate and reschedule any game that has a lengthy delay due to a serious injury. The game will be replayed at a mutually agreed upon day and time. Teams may opt to play a doubleheader at a future opening on the schedule.
8. At the conclusion of the game, teams
may shake hands and then quickly vacate the bench area to allow for the
incoming teams.
Please use sidelines to leave the field area. Post-game meetings must be held under the deck or other areas away from the field and sidelines.
Guidelines:
1. Check your schedule for East vs. West field assignments. As you stand at concessions and face the fields, the East field is on the left and the West field is on the right.
2. Parents and spectators are encouraged to watch the games from the upper deck for the best view.
3. As a courtesy to your opponent, if your team can not make it to a scheduled game, notify the SZ management scrsltn@aol.com so that they can arrange for a substitute team.
4. See www.sportzonepark.com or www.thesoccerbubble.com for the latest schedule updates. There will be a weekend update posted by Wednesday or Thursday of each week showing the coming weekend schedule. Team representatives/parents can this schedule weekly for any unforeseen last minute changes to the schedules.
5. Check the schedule posted on the bulletin board the day of your game. This schedule will be the most recent version and will override all other schedules posted on the website.
Game Format
Rescheduled Games:
1. Rescheduling games is very difficult.
2. Coaches can not reschedule games.
3. Only the management has the authority to change games in the event of an emergency situation.
4. All special requests should be submitted in writing at the time of registration.
5. All special requests will be considered. Special requests may not be honored due to the master schedule constraints.
